GQ Man of the Year

Yesterday afternoon some friends and I took a trip to the Kachina Peaks to hike the BEAR'S JAW trail. It was a nice hike through the aspens with a cool breeze and shade on your face. But alas, we saw no bears. Perhaps the avalanche took them away?*

* we lost the trail at the base of Mt. Humphreys because an avalanche had swept the forest away.

A series of events this evening make me want to impulsively leave town - just for a bit. But, I have 6 people depending on me to take them to work in the morning. Sigh. Here's Why I WISH to be Impulsive:

Rune's leaving tomorrow for the motherland (denmark). I told him if I wasnt working, I'd drive him and I to Vegas 2nite just to have breakfast there before he leaves.

Keith's off to swim with horses in Maryland this weekend.

Nicole figures Santa Fe, New Mexico is halfway between where we both live. It's only 400 miles. Perhaps next weekend that WILL happen.

So right now I'm figuring on just doing some local hiking here in Flagstaff or down in Sedona. Dare we hike Bear's Jaw Trail and tempt fate/destiny with the black bear (who can also be brown I read)?

Sunset over los Gauchos

Climbed Humphreys Peak again, yesterday. This time I went with 5 others: Hamish (NZ), Carl (Canada), Florian (Germany), Patrick, and Craig (both from Scotland). It was windier this time around, with Hamish losing his hat, and we came down the mountain around sunset. A Beautiful sunset.

Tops of the World

I climbed a my first mountain yesterday and that was cool. I still have four more days off until work starts up again and I'm running out of ideas for things to do. Please help me out and give me some suggestions

Some Connecting Flights have been cancelled due to inactivity. Do yourself a favor, post something and get back on my goodside!

Back in Flagstaff and to my surprise, I actually slept rather well in the airport. What? 6 hours of semi-comfortable rest. not bad not bad. Coach Carter? not bad, not bad.

PS> Keith, I got your cd in the mail - HOT.

LEFT AND LEAVING

Heading back to the mountains within the hour. Thought of this trip home as an enjoyable one. Wish I could have seen more of my friends. Wish I could be in two+ places at once. Lunch with Keith's Mom. Packing up. Cleaning up. Going home?

Jess has come down to visit me while I'm here in Ohio. We spent this evening looking at all my pictures taken so far to date. The computer was being gay and kept freezing-up. Oh well. All in all, a busy day.

Tomorrow Keith is coming down and that is always an enjoyable time. Haven't seen the young dude since March.

Wow, I've still 2.5 days left here until I fly back to work and responsibility. I kinda miss that.

I Should Have Followed My Dream

Safe and Sound in Mansfield Ohio?
Whilst it is nice to be home, it just doesn't feel like home. Please don't get me wrong, I love Ohio (I bleed Ohio), but my return here feels partially empty. Perhaps it is a sign of growing up, maturing? I don't know, it just feels ______. Fill in the blank.
I'm going over to my grandmother's house tomorrow morning to use her car. It will be empty and it will always stay that way. She's not coming home and I question where my home is.

I still can't decide whether or not I hate those iPod commercials.

How was your day?

I hate goodbyes especially when you love that person. Taking Nicole to the airport this morning was very difficult. I didn't want her to go, she didn't want to go, yet she did. I miss her already...
