Clouds In My Coffee

By the way, I loved Tracy's letter to the editor that condemns Thanksgiving and attempts to put a guilt trip on every white American for killing all the Indians. I was going to rant and rave all about this, tear it down, and so on, but that goes against the spirit of Thanksgiving.
I am THANKFUL for my family, friends, my health, happiness, and this past year. Don't try to bring me down simply because YOU're missing the point.

Dear Thanksgiving,
I love you. Thank you for the Pilgrims landing on Fraggle Rock and the Internet.
Love,
Jason
P.S. I drew you a picture of us in love.

Lower the temperature, cue the snow clouds, roll camera, and action.
It's Thanksgiving Day and we have received our first snow of the season. Although it's only a dusting, I hope this is the beginning of an incredible winter.
I visited with Keith and his family last night. The boys and Mrs. Freund played RISK while I provided commentary, settled disputes, and made mixed drinks. My drink special is the "Spanish Harlem." Don't ask me how to make it because the ingredients change every time. Last night's was ice tea, strawberry daquiri mix, and orange triple sec. It's been an uneventful week so I'm merely filling space here.

Genus: Pure Country
I've gotten some links up now.
I was in Akron last night for the Good Morning Valentine show. Keith's roommate, Matt is in the band and they totally rocked.
Other news!
I had the new R. Kelly adult beverage last night, "K" It was advertised as being "as smooth as R. Kelly" himself. I was surprised to see it was a Hard Cider. Kinda sissy, but then again 15 year old girls would like a drink like that and we all know how Mr. Kelly likes those 15 year old girls.

Mikkel was sweet/stupid enough to send me his pictures from Flagstaff/ACE. I'll be posting a picture every now and again to show you the magnitude of pure awesomeness.
I'll be getting around to having links on this blog too. Don't sweat it.

Would you trust me alone in a room with your pizza or your wallet/purse?
I found myself in that situation (the pizza one) while at work today. We were working at Sprint today and one of the service technicians left a hot pizza in the same room with me. ALONE. How hard was is to fight the urge to eat one slice? I almost did, but he came back to finish it in my presence. The moral of the story is, don't trust me to watch your pizza. It is NOT safe. N-O.

Problems in Fallujah? We'll get that fixed tomorrow.
I've actually begun to understand life...
Since coming back from my time in Arizona, I no longer sit and worry about having a professional business career. I'm not stressed about landing that job that will put me on the fast-track to success. Back in January I was totally focused on having a full-time job, making money, saving that money, and planning out my future. Now in November, I shudder to think about working in an office environment, don't mind that my bank accounts are dwindling, and can't stop thinking about my next big adventure. I guess I've finally figured it out that I am too young to be stuck in an office and that I really should start enjoying life. Also, I've stopped worrying about things in general.

It's simply how I get by
First, I want to comment that it's nice to see Jacqueline with a new blog.
Thank you Keith for posting some links on your blog.
It's fun to be working. I'm not a fan of 530am wake-ups though.
I am {-THIS CLOSE-} to going to Europe next month. Maybe the packaging of your Christmas present won't be legible because the words on it are in GERMAN.
I felt sick to my stomach when I received my package that I mailed from Flagstaff only to see that the coffee mugs I bought were not in there. I must have left them in my room before I came home. I suck, please feel free to agree.

I've been home for a week.
I managed to take a trip up north to Akron to visit my friends and I indeed had a marvelous time. A marvelous time despite Keith's car troubles and a war between two cats named Pearl Harbour and Harriet. That feline battle on Colfax is very "type:Cold War" - one cat controls the upstairs, the other holds the downstairs.
Thursday night at Thursday's was fun but not awesome. I did get to dance with Keith and Jess. Bedtime was 4am, that's the highlife.
Friday night, Keith's new roomie, Jen, wanted to have a party. Sitting around the living room is a party. I did get to see Marianne, Teresa, Dan, Justin, and Thad. An 'A+' evening.
Ohio State won. Akron won. I start working tomorrow for the MAN (D.A.D.)
I need a job and the money so this is a good thing.

They say Delaware always votes the winning way for Presidential elections, but I also say that I vote the right way for the winner. 2 for 2 in elections.
FOUR MORE YEARS!!!
I know plenty of people that are heart-broken right now. If Bush lost, I wouldn't really mind. I had no good reason to change my vote to Kerry. I guess Farenheit 9/11 didn't work after all. I know when I watched it, I fell asleep twice. I'm only talking politics now because it's finally over. And why did Kerry just give Ohio away?
I start working for Dad's MGM next Monday. This is good because I was doing the financials for my stay in Arizona and I have spent way more than I originally thought and way, way more than I budgeted for. If the money is right, I'd like to take a short trip to Europe before Christmas. But before I do that, I should talk to the people that I'd like to visit first. You know who you are (wink, wink).
Tomorrow I am visiting Akron for the first time in over 3 months. I want to see:
The Danimal
Marianne Katanic
Keith A.W. Freund
Cousin Thad
I should call these people.

It looks ugly, but I've given you access to my blogger archives. Chances are that I won't be changing the appearance of the archive links. Enjoy.
I am home. When I say home, I am referring to Mansfield, OHIO. I touched down in Port Columbus at 630pm last night. After being up for over 40 straight hours, I crashed at midnight and it was great to sleep in my own bed again.
I haven't posted here in over a week and this past week was full of adventure. Since I've told just about everyone about my last week either by email or face-to-face, I'm just going to re-hash the facts.
Facts
Monday - finally was able to leave for the Grand Canyon to begin work on the South Bass Trail after a 9-day weekend.
Tuesday - Hiked with Supervisor Gavin (Australia), Mikkel (Denmark), and Mikio (Japan) 5 miles down into the canyon to do survey work. Beautiful scenery! Later that day Mikkel, Mikio, Daniel (Sweden), and I were chased by some wild Javelinas. Use your family encyclopedia to see a Javelina.
Wednesday - Trail work in the rain. I supervised a crew of 5 people. Lots of walking again. Quit work early due to the rain. The rain changed to snow overnight.
Thursday - Awoke to 8 inches of snow on the ground. Attempted to leave campsite for home in Flagstaff. Vans became stuck in mud after only 5 of 29 miles driven. Advised to hike back to camp for safety. Informed help would not come for two days. We slept 18 people in one safari tent, too crowded.
Friday - Hiked with Mikkel back to vans, taking up the morning. Very boring sitting around camp. Lots of sun, melting snow. Our "rescue" would be coming at 430am Saturday morning.
Saturday - Awoke at 3am to break-down camp and be rescued. Got to drive a van back, very muddy, total rally driving.
So that's my week at the Grand Canyon. I stayed up all night so I wouldn't miss my 430am bus to Phoenix airport. My night included free tequila shots, "flaming Dr. Pepper," beer, laughs, Halloween, and good friends. I had an incredible time over the past fourteen weeks. I've made so many new friends from all over the world and chances are that I'll meet some of them again. I'm tired right now and the fact that I'm sitting here in Mansfield is still a little surreal. Surreal, that's the word that describes my situation as of now. I missed Ohio, now I miss Flagstaff.
